I didn’t want to be all the way up there
Where there are no limits
Existing only as pure spirit day after day
There was something I had to witness
That’s what allowed me to be here
I voiced my want and fell to the ground
When I got there I couldn’t stop laughing
I kept laughing long after landing
The few people on the street joined me
Familiar in my coat
My hat whooshed away mid fall
Guess what I did I laughed of course
I felt optimistic about the day
There was a task in it now
I was going to get myself a new hat
Walk into a store try different options ask for help
Listen to each opinion and make a decision
Based on the advice I received and my own instinct
The one that got me here
I heard a little bell when I left the store
Wondered if I would keep on hearing it
Then went on about my day
Which would be different now from the last
Weather conditions followed loose patterns
Drawing skills improved with experience
Water became ice then returned to being water
Your breath was sometimes visible
Conversations expanded the more I talked to people
I loved everything about them
The way sentences began and ended
The way language organized
Seeing only half of it
While feeling its whole presence was the limit
When they asked me if I wanted to play
The part of myself I replied how did you know
