Public

What does Him mean?

Author

It means nothing.

Public

But surely it must mean something.

Author

If it meant anything, it would not be what it is.

Public

Then you refuse to explain your play?

Author

Certainly.

Public

Why?

Author

Because I do not know what it means.

Public

But if you wrote it, you must know what it means.

Author

On the contrary.

Public

Then why did you write it?

Author

Because I had to.

Public

Do you think the public will understand it?

Author

I sincerely hope not.
